Korruption Point System [KPS]
What is KPS?
Gaining KPS
KPS will be gained based entirely on Instance Run attendance
3 KPS points will be earned for arriving at the run on time. Note: Arriving on time means being at the appointed meeting place, not simply being online.
0.5 KPS points for every 30 minutes that you are there in the run (1 point/hour).
The 'timer' on the run will begin when ALL enter the instance! There may be times when a warlock will be available to summon you, but don't automatically expect to be summoned and make it there 'on time'. The clock that will be used to determine the timing on runs is the in-game clock.
Gaining Items with KPS
All blue (or better) items that drop during a run will count as KPS items, regardless of whether or not it comes from a boss mob. Minimum KPS cost on items will be 3 KPS
Items that are won using KPS are assumed to be on a NEED basis. We do not want people spending KPS on items just to sell them in the AH, as it is not fair to other people in the guild. Items that are not bid on will go to the guild bank for sale to help fund such things as the 16 slot bags that people have been receiving, recipes in the auction house that are particularly rare and would be very useful to the guild as a whole IE: mooncloth bag, high-level enchants, etc, vendor-bought reagents (please talk to the guild bankers if you need reimbursement from the guild bank), and possibly in the future cash to the guild as a whole.
Our system is a secret bidding system. When an item drops that you would like to try to win, you will need to send a /whisper to the KPS person. This person will be designated at the start of the instance run in raid chat,
IE:
Raid: Please send tells to <insert name here> if you want in on <insert item link here>
When you /whisper this person, you will need to tell them the MAXIMUM amount of KPS that you would be willing to bid on the item. This will not necessarily be the amount you will spend, but as specified it will need to be the MOST you would be willing to spend. The person with the highest maximum bid will win the item, at the price of 0.5 KPS points higher than the next highest maximum bid. In the case of a tie, the person with the higher amount of total KPS will win.
Example (all on the same run):
Example #1: Boss 1 drops: Shadowcraft breastplate. Brighteye, Izzwal, & Bicuspar all want in on it, so they each send a /w to the KPS person. Bright bids up to 6.5 KPS, Izzwal bids up to 5 KPS, and Bicuspar bids up to 4.5 KPS. Bright would win the item, at a cost of 5.5 KPS (0.5 pts higher than the next highest bid).
Example #2: Random trash mob drops: Shadowcraft bracer. Izz, and Cusp all want in on it again. Izz & Cusp /w the KPS person and each say they will bid up to 5 KPS. The KPS person will then check the Forums to see what the current KPS totals are for each of them. Cusp has a total of 16.5 KPS & Izz has a total of 19 KPS. Izz will win the item for a 5 KPS cost because his KPS total is higher.
When an item is bid on, that bid is considered final for all future dealings. We will not allow people to retract their bids in hopes of inflating the cost for other members. If you bid, please be expecting to buy it. --
Negative KPS
It is possible to have negative KPS. It could happen if you have 1 KPS and you win an uncontested item for the minimum 3 KPS, resulting in a new total of -2 KPS. However, you can NOT go negative by bidding more KPS than you have to win an item. If you have only 5 KPS, you cannot make a maximum bid of 15 KPS on an item; you can only go up to 5 KPS. The KPS person for the raid will be in charge of making sure that people do not exceed their current totals. It is recommended that at the beginning of the raid, each person either check the webpage for their current total OR ask the person in charge of KPS for that raid for their current total. Knowing how much you can bid will save confusion during the raid.
If you have less than 5 KPS (0-4.5), you may bid up to 5 KPS on an item UNLESS you are already negative. If you are already negative, you may not bid on an item UNLESS you are uncontested or the other people who want to bid are also negative.
If you are negative and you're going against someone else who is also negative, the person with the higher total will win outright for the 3 KPS minimum cost.
Example: Players A, B, & C want to bid on an item. A has -1 KPS, B has -4 KPS, C has 1 KPS. Player C automatically wins for a 3 KPS cost.
Players A & B want to bid on an item. A has -1 KPS & B has -4 KPS. Player A automatically wins for a 3 KPS cost.
Prioritizing Items
Some items will be prioritized to particular classes. The best example is set items. Things like the Devout, Dreadmist, & Magister's sets. You may only roll on a set piece if it is part of "your" set. The exception to this is if no one from that particular class wants the piece, then it becomes open to anyone who can & would use it.
Example: Dreadmist bracers drop. Molarus is the only warlock with us, so it would normally go to him automatically for a 3 KPS minimum uncontested item drop. However, he already has the item. Therefore, it becomes open for bidding to Kros, Yaz, Cusp, & Bright, the other cloth wearers present on the raid.
We will post more on this as soon as we are able.
Recipes
Recipes will continue to be non-KPS items. However, there will be one small change. If a recipe drops and there are people who can memorize it there on the spot they will be given priority. IF there is more than one person there with the skill to use the recipe, they will /roll for the recipe. If a recipe drops and there is only 1 person on the raid who has that particular trade skill, it will go to them regardless of whether they can use it yet or not. It then is up to the person whether or not they choose to save the recipe until they can use it, or give it to someone in the guild who already can.
Example: Izz, Rhora, and Bright are all on a raid and the Crusader enchant formula drops. Izz and Rhora both have 300 skill, Bright has 246 skill. Bright is automatically out of the roll. Izz & Rhora will then random /roll for the recipe.
Dual Raids
There are times when we must split forces and do 2 separate raids on one instance. All bind on equip items Blue or better can be bid on by members in attendance at either raid. If you're not online, I’m sorry you cannot submit a proxy bid for any kind of random world drops. Bind on Pick up items must be bid on only by the parties present inside the raids specific instance.
These KPS Guidelines were established on Febuary 22, 2006
